MLQ Championship Sponsor Update: Breakmark Breakout Area

Take a break from the action at MLQ Championship in the Breakmark Breakout Area, sponsored by Breakmark.

Breakmark was started in 2005 and has been focused predominantly on producing apparel for the ultimate community, including the Western Ultimate League and two Premier Ultimate League teams. They are also the official sponsor of the US National Quadball Team. Breakmark recently licensed MLQ franchise branding for exclusive reversibles and sling bags.

“We wanted to offer our athletes and spectators an area where they can take a break from quadball but still have fun and engage with each other at the MLQ Championship. The area will feature lawn games such as cornhole, Kan Jam, Spikeball, and more,” said MLQ Commissioner Amanda Dallas.

The MLQ Championship is the league’s signature event and features three competitions in one weekend: the Benepe Cup, the Next Gen Showcase, and Take Back the Pitch.

The Benepe Cup, named for real-life quadball founder and former US Quadball CEO Alex Benepe, is the conclusion for the summer-long, official MLQ season. The Next Gen Showcase, which takes place Sunday, is a competition featuring the practice squad athletes from across the league. Monday’s Take Back the Pitch is a one-of-a-kind event. This showcase challenges the current understanding of gender in quadball and opens opportunities for gender diverse athletes to play quidditch out from under the scrutiny of misogyny, transmisogyny, and misdirected misogyny.

All games will be played simultaneously on two fields at Troy Park in Howard County, Md. over Aug. 17-19 and will be livestreamed to fans around the world.

Tickets are available now.
