Franchise Eligibility
To qualify for participation on an MLQ franchise or practice squad roster, athletes must reside within a franchise’s designated radius. Each franchise has specific requirements to maintain divisional balance and foster a strong, distinct team culture. Use this page to review our radii and determine which franchise is right for you.
MLQ recognizes that some athletes may live outside these boundaries and offers a radius waiver for exemption consideration on a case-by-case basis. This waiver must be filled out each season by parties seeking consideration regardless of past approvals.

Radius Waiver FAQ
-
No, if an athlete lives within a franchise radius, then they must play for that franchise.
-
MLQ encourages franchises to build strong team cultures, making it essential for players to participate beyond just game days. Based on experience, MLQ has found that waivers exceeding approximately 250 miles can hinder this goal.
-
Yes! Your waiver is only applicable for one season.
-
During the season, MLQ will reach out to randomly selected individuals within a franchise and ask them to verify their residency. This can be done via a drivers license, utility bill, piece of mail, gym membership, library card, or various other options. Players that are found to be misrepresenting their location will be suspended from the franchise, and the franchise will forfeit all prior games that the player has played in.
